Programs & Curriculum

Two Year Old Preschool
Our weekly themes in the Two Year Old room promote independence through a variety of child centered and teacher directed activities. Self-help skills such as hand washing, potty training, feeding themselves and independent clean up are among the skills that are taught. The Two Year Old program introduces students to circle time activities including calendar, weather, counting, story time and songs. The children also identify numbers and letters through stories and songs. The age appropriate activities in the classroom promote turn taking, cooperating, sharing, and expressing feelings in an age appropriate manner.

Three Year Old Preschool
Our three year old preschool program is lead by two teachers, one focusing on math activities and the other fostering language development. This program includes circle time activities which include weather, calendar counting, finger plays and story time. We provide opportunities for students to develop social skills through cooperative learning and play. The curriculum is individualized to meet the needs of all children and offers many "hands on” experiences.

Our Pre-K 4 program provides an environment that stimulates and encourages social, educational, physical and intellectual growth in our Kindergarten-bound children. Readiness skills are emphasized as well as a broad array of science, music, art and discovery lessons. Employing play, games, individual and group teaching activities, we focus on: letter and number recognition, physical and social development and musical skills. We strive to provide a nurturing, academic yet developmental environment that promotes enthusiasm, provides discovery opportunities and encourages critical thinking skills and the formation of positive peer relationships.
The Pre-K 5 program is designed to prepare students for Kindergarten. We incorporate lessons and activities that are aligned with the Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Early Childhood education. The students learn math and literacy skills through inquiry based learning that involves hands on materials and cooperative learning. We design our curriculum to allow students to grow and develop socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively. We believe that children learn best when their environment is stimulating and engaging.
Our Kindergarten classroom has been designed to provide the students with a safe and comfortable atmosphere, which makes learning more effective and enjoyable. Using Pennsylvania State Learning Standards as a guideline, children learn the basic key skills of literacy and numeracy through a variety of hands-on activities and games, along with thematic lessons which focus on a diversity of age appropriate topics. In addition to the academics, our goal is to promote the development of problem solving skills, listening and reasoning skills as well as fostering a child’s social skills, imagination and creativity. We aspire to guide and assist all students in reaching their full potential in preparation for the elementary school setting.
The Transition Program is offered to children who have completed Kindergarten, but may need an additional year of social, emotional or academic growth before entering 1st grade. Please speak with the director for availability options.

Before & After School
Students have the option of riding the bus to any of the 3 elementary schools in the Franklin Regional School District. Busing is also available to Mother of Sorrows School for students living in the district. Transportation is provided by the district. Children may attend either the before and/or after school program thru their third grade school year.

Summer Camp
We offer a summer program for children two years of age through the conclusion of their third grade year. Each week the children will explore a different theme with pre-planned morning and afternoon activities and events. The children will be entertained by special guests, participate in creative dramatics, water play and more! You may be interested in having your child join us for just a few days each week to keep up social skills and interest in learning. Whatever your needs, you are welcome.
